About the Band

TUIB – the band members

David Smith: lead vocals, guitar, and “Guitjo” to round out the sound in the group. The founder and original owner of Smiley’s Acoustic Café, he has been around the Greenville, South Carolina music scene for some time now. He has a passion for everything music. David spent many years attending the Grateful Dead’s live shows. David learned the importance of music for communicating, having fun, and appreciating our fan community.

Red Miller: keyboards, and background vocals. Red is a New Englander transplant by way of California and Illinois. Red moved to Upstate South Carolina in 2008, and has since played festivals and clubs across the Carolinas. Red is a fan of classic rock, blues, and jam bands including Little Feat, Dead and Company, and the Tedeschi-Trucks Band. Red enjoys adding synthesizer solos and textures to classic organ and piano sounds.

Bob Sinclair: lead guitarist and occasional Clemson professor. Bob came to Greenville from Maine with stops in North Carolina, Michigan, Oklahoma, and Oregon. His musical background is a mixture of jazz, classic, and vintage rock. A serious student of Jerry Garcia’s playing, Bob enjoys mixing music styles to create new and fresh takes on classic tunes.

Bob Cronin on drums

Bob Cronin: drums. Bob is a native New Yorker, and retired NYPD detective. “Big Bob” Cronin has called Greenville, South Carolina home since 2005. Before joining Tangled Up In Blue played in several Carolina bands including Southbound Trax, Full Circle, and Saints of Circumstance

Tom Blackwell: bass. Tom is the newest member of TUIB. He is a native of Upstate South Carolina, and has played in numerous classic rock bands over the years. (photo soon.)
